"Ever since I can remember, I have devoted my energy into the creation of objects that intend to reflect my own vision of natural beauty that embrace the external expression of internal beauty, without regard of fashion trends and focusing in manual crafting knitting embroiding and exploring different techniques and fabrics. I have particularly developed a manual knitting technique using extra fine leathers"



Based in her studio in Mexico City Elke works with natural materials crafted by indigenous groups of different areas of Latin America Huicholes from Mexico, Mayans from Guatemala, Shipibos from Peru, Cogis and Arahuacos from Colombia and Quechuas and Amaras from Bolivia, acquired during her frequent travels and  engaged in a fair trade partnership pursuing the permanence and conservation of their ancient craft and traditions and contributing with of her own design and craft experience, creating one of a kind sustainable objects of both spiritual en aesthetic excellence.
